This is the 1st year Big Bangs Australia have sponsored and managed junior female teams in the country, and we’re proud, humbled, happy and every other wonderful emotion now that we have 2 Champioship Girls’ Teams!!
Congratulations to the under-14’s and the under-19’s, both playing for the very 1st time together, who have taken out their respective championship games!
Congrats also to Lindsay and Kalie, coaches of the teams, as well as Andrew, the manager of the Canberra-based teams.
These 3 guys have given up their time on a purely volunteer basis, week in and week out, driving the players to and from practice and games, making sure trainings go smoothly, taking care of equipment and uniforms, and ensuring the players have everything they need in order to be successful. We wouldn’t be the Big Bangs without your contributions.
Special shout out to the amazing ladies on both teams who relentlessly worked on their games, taking up extra trainings, shooting around in the gym long before and after everyone else had left.
Special mention to the Park Hyatt Canberra, who fed these lovely ladies every Saturday night at Night Hoops, and of course to Basketball ACT for being so supportive of our teams!
